Had the dreaded amber suspension warning light come on the other day. Decided I'd have a go at changing the piston seal and air dryer on the compressor which went fairly smoothly but still no good. Took the car to an excellent local 4x4 specialist, Venture 4x4 in Shipston on Stour, and they gave me the not unexpected news that I needed a new compressor. !

Anyway, they fitted one of the uprated AMK compressors for me and all fixed now. £660 poorer though.........

Only had the RRS 2 weeks but compressor should last for many years now. Other than that, what a machine, very pleased.

Mrs. had a small crash as she drove the RRS into the side of a car.....don't ask!

Anyhoo, it went in to the body shop for a bumper change. When I went to collect the car there were multiple warnings not the dash with terrain functions off and HDC fault. I refused to collect it citing it a damage on their part as the warnings weren't there when I dropped the car off to them. They sent it to RR dealership for a diagnostic and it has come back now with a red suspension light and a fault report stating: found internal fault present with suspension ECU, unable to retain calibration settings. Not accident related.

Any tips on how I should proceed? They are quoting £500 for a new suspension control unit. Never argue with an idiot as he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

The printout would show the mileage when the fault occurred.
Say you drove in with the clock on 50,000 and the print out logs the fault at 50,020 then you know they caused it.

Regardless, believe the onus is on them to prove this was an inherent fault 07 TDV8 + BAS map

They told me over the phone that this fault had been registering as transient in the past but only ended up latching this time. It was just a coincidence. Their word against mine. Never argue with an idiot as he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

I have the same problem range Rover sport 2009 2.7 V6 they told me the state angle sensor need to be changed I’ve done then they told me the compressor need to be changed I’ve done that I spent over £1600 the problem still comes up

Another with strange suspension issues.

Car went into access height, then wouldn’t rise.
Then the car did rise but in standard mode, the centre screen showed “off road�
Put ut into low and it wouldn’t stay down with message of clear obstruction.
Then the rear would rise, but the front didn’t. Eventually a message came up “ suspension slow to rise�

Eventually car was in standard mode and left it there so wife can get to work tomorrow.
I’m out earlier, so will see if the car is still sitting straight

Weird, no yellow warning light on dash, only brief messages and also wouldn’t lock down, woukd bleep and go back up to standard with all three modes (standard, access and lick) flashing. Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4

I have a 2007 RR Sport 2.7 diesel.

Recently the suspension went down with error on dashboard and the yellow height icon came on. Had it diagnosed and no faults or error codes. All suspension modes are suspended. Checked all sensors which appear to be working fine. Checked fuses and found 60a fuse blown. Rest of the fuses are ok. Replaced the fuse and noticed the compressor ran for a couple of minutes and stopped. Checked and found fuse blew again. Suspected the compressor is taking too much load. Hence started to investigate compressor, silencer and filter. Found the pipe leading from filter to silencer removed. Removed compressor from car and found compressor ran a lot longer with good psi whilst removed from car. Refitted compressor and re ran but this time with the exhaust and inlet pipes removed and found compressor to run normally and car raised. Error message cleared. Suspension modes activated.

Question is, can the silencer and filter become blocked? and cause the compressor to draw heavy load of current and run in overload and heat up and cause the fuse to blow.

If the filter was blocked and the pipe was removed to by pass the filter can that lead to dirt and water getting into the silencer and clogging it up even though the filter pipe is quite small? Can this be cleaned out and re-used? Seems a waste having to spend 60 to 70 quid on a silencer and filter.

Any ideas peops.

Hi there wondering if anyone can give me advice on the above matter. my RRS HSE 2013 model vehicle intermittently flashes up a camber warning light if i turn a corner too fast or sometimes when i go over a bump, it tells me to stop the engine right away, once i do it and restart the warning goes away and the car is fine till the next episode, i took the car for a diagnostic and the garage said it was a fault relating to the hydraulic suspension pump and that it had been leaking, he filled up the system and it gave me no problems for around a week then started back again, do any of you know how much to supply and fit a new pump?

Bought ~V8 RRS from a company called Prestige Specialist cars, swindon way. I bought without seeing the car in the flesh but saw the pictures, read the write up and spoke to the owner of the garage. Seemed legit and a decent enough chap. Car gets delivered and looks ok. Next day I get underneath to have a look and its rusty as f**k. A couple weeks later I notice car leaning to offside rear. Suspension just says raising slowly but its obv not correct. I ask the dealer what to do and says make warranty claim. Warranty co won't cover air suspension on older rrs. Go back to dealer. They diagnose compressor fault and send me an unbranded compressor to change which I think, fair enough until I realise its prob a 150 quid one off bay. I fit this but makes no difference. Take car to local dealer. Up on ramps front suspension bushes shot. Rear hub rose joint thing loads of play. Faulty rear height sensor. So I ask the dealer to cover cost. Nope they won't. Say warranty co is responsible. They then 'talk warranty co' into giving me 450 toward my 1500 bill. I ask dealer to meet me half way on remaining. nope. I threaten them with small claims court, they say go ahead, so I am. I am sick and f*****g tired of these so called decent dealers fleecing folk. I am taking them to small claims court because its the principle. The air con doesn't work either. Plus the rear air shocks don't appear to have any dampening. This car passed an MOT a month or so before I bought it. no way would it have passed an MOT !!!

I'll avoid that place like the plague. I have all of the emails and texts and can back up all ive written. See what happens in small claims.

Anyone know where I can buy a full set of suspension to replace all 4 of the air shocks??? without breaking the bank?

Hi,

Had air compressor changed over and all was well, have measured all four corners and all showing different gaps from centre cap to wheel arch.
I can hear the new compressor over the engine and just doesn't seem right to me.

Could my way of thinking be correct that; the air suspension now needs calibrating to correct/reset gaps to OEM? Car is booked in next Wednesday but worried to use it in case i damage the compressor.
