United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
2010 Towing Electrics Curveball

I require a tow bar on my new acquisition so I can tow my track car.

An electrician advised the towing electrics were on the left hand side in the boot. I ordered the LR011211 part and proceeded to fit the item once received. Pushed the connectors through the body and towards the connects in the car. It was tight and had to pull the existing connects down a little. Then trying to fit them the connectors are totally different.

LR did not know, the supplier did not know the answer either. They even showed a kit with the same setup in the back, with the final section I have. Starting to wonder who actually knows how to fit them.

It was not until I read another thread about the facelift wiring being behind the bumper. So why would my car have both the old version for connecting in the electrics and the new? Having said that I have not yet taken off the bumper to find the connectors, fingers cross. 2010 3.0 TDV6 RRS Overfinch GTS

My towing connectors are behind the bumper, they used to drop down as not secured properly....

THe looms tend to be in 2 parts.

One To take it out the car, to behind the rear bumper (below the light)
And another run from there to the sockets

The 2010 to 2011 cars have a loom which plugs in behind the left boot wall. The 2012 MY has the wiring behind the bumper on the left.

The 2010 to 11 MY requires a loom from the left boot wall to the back right side of the bumper which replaces the existing loom there. Then there’s the 2 looms for the 2 (or 1 combined) towing connectors which plug into that first loom. You have this latter loom which will fit a 2012MY pre fitted loom but needs the 2010 additional loom for your car. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

This is what a MY12 on looks like behind bumper. I think you could also need the link harness on a MY10 which could be LR020149 but is Vin. No. dependent and if you have the 13 pin plug/socket part which I believe the LR011211 is. If you are trying to fit the 13 pin socket I think you actualy needed kit VPLST0015

That is probably what he needs, unfortunatley that is a engineering number not a part number so I don't think it will me much to L/R.

I have this in my car already. The green plug is already connected and both the greys plugs are not. What are the grey connectors for, out of interest?

I will take the bumper off next week as I spoke with a trailer company who had a PDF advising of 2010 models being behind the bumper. 2010 3.0 TDV6 RRS Overfinch GTS

You don’t have this wiring. You will have the plate with the greeen connected connector and 2 greys in the car.

The plate in the kit I’ve posted pics of goes in the bin as you have it already. You remove the top 1/2 of the green connector and remove the loom which goes out of the car to the bumper (this is the old reverse censors etc loom) and that goes in the draw or bin. You fit the new loom green connector it’s it’s place and fit the 2 new grey plugs to the free grey plugs already in the car. The trailer connector loom you have then plugs in the other end.

The PDF you mention is for the 2012MY.
