Mine`s my "daily" driver but working shifts I only do about 7k miles a year. Have had issues but at the moment (touches wood) it`s running sweet as a nut Steve. |

I used to work overseas and only came home every 3 months for a couple of weeks at a time and never had any issues whatsoever, parked outside with a ctek charger on it and never had so much as a flat battery on two different sports.

My 2013 Black edition has done 60,000 miles and never missed a beat. Driven every day, and she does too many short runs. I charge the battery regularly (Ctek), change the oil every 6 months, stay ahead of the service schedule, do a partial ATF change every year and so far so good.

Ted to use mine at weekends or the odd run on an evening though just done a 3500k run across Europe with no problems. Have had a couple of big issues in the past though rear ARB leaking a torque converter plus a starter motor. Had the car 6 years now clocked up 45k 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Mine is a daily driver, as was the TDV8 before it. TDV8 did 30k miles a year for three years. Had issues but mostly early in my ownership when mileage per year was a lot lower, included short runs and it was serviced by a LR dealership. Once I swapped to an indie, and usage increased, it was happier.

I use mine mainly at weekends but sometimes during weekday evenings, mainly short runs. I use a solar panel charger to keep the battery topped up whilst it's not used and car starts every time with very little effort. It is a petrol which might help, had some issues but it's part of the joy of owning one of these magnificent beasts!

It's just the difference between someone who buys to scratch an itch, and someone who buys for practical purposes, that's all. Mine were bought to be a comfortable mobile office, to tow horses, to take muddy dogs shooting, to carry rubbish to the tip and to be useable in all conditions (dry, wet, snow, mud, rocky trails etc).. I have a mate with a Defender. It's done 500 miles in 6 months and most of those have been taking it to places to have stuff done to make it look cool. Spends more time cleaning it than driving it. Won't drive it in the rain. Took it out in the snow this last winter but only so he could tow people and look cool. Horses for courses, of course, but if I'm spending £20-30k on a vehicle, I want it to earn it's keep. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

No option for “sold it because a replacement for a car I love and have owned 3 of since 2005, is now just too expensive to justify purchasing new” 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I now use mine as a daily as I have sold my vw pickup but I only do 5 miles a day to work & back so its not really expensive to run even though its the SC.
