Thanks Geoff, I'm just waiting for the director of the company to get back to me this coming week, if no history is found I shall seek legal advice to recoup the money I've spent or part of, before I expose his trading practices on social media platforms, if that's what I have to do. Cheers Geoff. Updated sat nav

because the only service history or repairs that are recorded on a system are only by the original manufacturer any other independent shops will provide a receipt and that's it so if they go missing you have nothing left when buying my range rover sport the previous owner lost the service history but told me its full LR I googled the number for the nearest service centre and gave my registration and over the phone they confirmed to me the full-service history and then emailed me a copy they are very helpful and friendly and am sure they will help you out and would even give advice . |

You are a star mate, I'm actually looking forward to calling them tomorrow now, but obviously with a little trepidation, if it comes back with no records and I get the proof via email it will be game over for the dealer. Once it's all sorted I'm going to post the name of the company to hopefully prevent this happening to anyone else. Thanks again mate 👍 Updated sat nav

But if they have not advertised it as full main dealer service it will not appear on the Land Rover system if it had been serviced by say Halfords then in therory it still does have service history |

I thought all services were computerised. Either Land Rover or a main dealer should be able to have a look. Also if you go to DVLA MOT CHECK then Check MOT History, it will show you all Mot results, Pass, Fail with what it failed on & advisories with them listed. At least this will let you know how well the car has been looked after. Lots of fails or advisories, it hasn't been serviced that often. Lots of passes then it has been looked after.

Not all services are recorded within the LR internal system via dealers - the system was not up and running until 2010 IIRC, also if a car falls out of the dealership network it will not be recorded and many cars don’t go near a main dealer or even an LR indie service agent after the warranty expires so how can there be a service history kept by LR? From experience it is also the case that main dealers can take an age to register a service in the JLR system, not all are so fast to upload them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Same as above, I wanted some more details on my 2012 and it was not on the Land Rover computer system. They told me it only went internet based in 2013 so could only give me details from their dealership. They couldn’t find the engine replacement (under warranty) on the current plate as it was carried out on its first private plate and didn’t record details by VIN. Eventually they found it when I gave them the initial reg (from the DVLA history check I paid for) but wouldn’t give me any proof as it’s covered by Data Protection (yeah really). I did get a works ticket number which I put in the service history book but that’s it. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
