Mikey/Brit, I agree. Some don't... surprisingly. You'd think a bill heading for £4k (SDV6) and a body off if you your turbos might influence but there you are. |

My TDV6 is on its original turbo at 207k miles

When does the need to idle for 30 seconds arise, only when shutting down after a sprightly drive, or after grandad style driving aswell? I never think about this, but it usually takes me at least 30 seconds to reverse into my drive and my driving is mostly pretty calm, especially near my home which is just outside a small village. Jammy sod Mikey... Mind you mine going on the RRS was my first ever, including a couple of Saabs with similar 200k plus mileages. And my first ever inlet manifold fail. And first, second and third wheelbearing failures. And first ever handbrake failure. Second ever alternator failure too so not all bad

From what you say you should be fine. I had more in mind a good thrash up the M5/6/74 and A702 from the Mids home, so lots of fast running for 5 hrs. Though any decent drive at pace/high revs for a reasonable time and just let it tick over. 20 or 30 secs is nothing in the scheme of things. |
