United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey
Just bought a 4.2SC

Morning all

We've just bought this! Bonatti Grey 2006 4.2S/C

We were looking at 2.7's and kissed some proper ugly frogs along the way. We then saw this one for about the same price and thought we'd have a look at it. The missus only does a couple of thousand miles a year so fuel isn't as much of a concern and decided wanted something that had lots of load space but was a bit of a weekend car.

It was bog standard and in a decent colour and hadn't been messed about with; we drove it and that was that.

About ten years ago I had a 1965 Ford Mustang racing car which was a hoot; this is the first car that's made me properly laugh since I sold the Mustang.

The seller said it was a First Edition but its a March 2006 car...so that's Censored !

We'll add some colour coded wing mirror covers and some piano black door inserts and then I think we'll leave it at that.

Nice!!!! Congratulations on your new addition!
I've had my 2005 4.2SC for 2 years and still get that insane grin on my face every time I drive it!!!
Enjoy! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Cheers Scrumpy.

I wanted a Discovery but the missus wanted a RRS badly and I bought it for her really. So we came to an agreement and got a RRS on the basis we could get a Supercharged one!

I have to say I've more than warmed to it, really glad we got one of these over a Disco now.

Had problems from the moment we picked it up but hopefully we'll get to the bottom of that today (S/C auxilliary water pump, its been re-wired and the pump replaced but its still freaking out after a bit of welly)

Love it, such a great toy. It's a keeper.

Tim,

It made me chuckle when the seller laid the "First Edition" on me. Actually I assumed they were all orange, I didn't know they came in the other colours. On the assumption that they were all orange I told him it wasn't what he said it was.

I don't think it makes much difference on value, nice to have a rarity though I suppose.

It's a really nice straight car in a colour that doesn't need to be washed every 5 minutes, which is what I was looking for.

(I think the missus wanted a matt grey wrapped thing with ivory leather and 22" alloys... Neutral )

The nice thing about Bonatti and Stornoway Grey is they look colour coded straight from the factory, unfortunately with Corrus Grey that doesn’t work quite so well but come the winter you won’t have to worry about the wife wanting a matte grey finish.... a few motorway miles and she won't worry about the wrong wrap as it turns matte but hides the winter road dirt! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Sorry to hijack this post but I have a question for Tim regarding first editions.
Mine is a 2005 SC in Java black with ivory interior with black piping, sunroof, HK Logik 7 stereo, rear entertainment system, etc etc.
Does this make mine a "first edition" it was registered in June 2005.

Thanks in advance. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

No RRS had black piping on the seats from the factory, First Ed’s have a plaque somewhere and iirc the rear seat entertainment was standard and it was a drop down screen in the middle of the ceiling..... i’m Not at home to get to my launch brochures to give the exact details of first Ed’s but Bobby can probably tell you. First Ed’s also have the perforated leather seat cushions on all seats which weren’t available on the ordinary SC, but i’m Not sure on that. First Ed’s also had the 20” Stormer alloys. Yours could be a customized First Edition - you might be able to find out using a Land Rover VIN checker of which their are several on the web. Not sure if Topix covers early cars. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks Tim, doesn't sound like mine is first edition then! I don't have perforated leather or the drop down screen but the spec does seem pretty good for an old car!
Topix lists my spec but doesn't mention "first edition"
