I am still waiting for an ETA from Volvo. If it is < 1 month, we can easily manage without a car because both me and the Mrs. take the tube to work and we are going to be away for more than a week on holiday too. 1 month then renting makes sense. More than 1 or 2 months and I would prefer to buy a stopgap car. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Car gone this morning (sold outside the forum). It was bit of a sad day, not helped by the news I got a couple of days ago that my Volvo has been delayed. Now looking at Jan/Feb Apparently the same reasons affecting most manufacturers.

A cheap VW Golf. Can’t justify spending a lot and risking higher depreciation for 5-6 months. Saw one today which was better than the last two I test drove. Pretty sure I’m confirming/buying tomorrow. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Won’t the Volvo dealer give you a loaner, it’s not your fault the cars build is delayed? BMW/Mini offered me a choice of car from their used car selection if the Sport could be sold before the Countryman arrived, all I had to do was insure it and put fuel in it. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim is correct, even the dealer in Spain gave me a loan car until my car was ready. You don't ask you don't get The dealer wanted my Sport, so I guess they had a buyer lined up. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

I never got a firm delivery date so technically this isn't a "delay". The initial indicative ETA of October meant that I would still have been without a car for 6-8 weeks because I was inclined to sell the RRS within warranty.

Good luck, it is worth asking them even if they can only offer some worn out hack, it’s better than having to buy tax and insure then sell on a banger. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Agreed. I contacted the salesman and even though he is on holiday until Tuesday, he still responded to my email to say he will let me know after speaking to his manager upon his return. Holding off buying that Golf now that I was hoping to commit to today. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
