Hello All,


Hope someone can help, I have 16 HSE with 34k miles on the clock, I started to notice a loud bang when shifting from R TO D
it feels similar as when the car is up on a hill parked and you changed gear followed by this bang.

maybe someone have something similar and can help me, my dealer told me it was normal, I have appointment next week and I asked to check another similar vehicle as they told me all they do the same, they want to start by resetting the transmission.

also when lifting foot of pedal at low speeds if I hit gas again I can feel similar but not so loud clunk

get them to check the "butterfly valve" in the exhaust system (at the front somewhere just before it splits down each side of the car

ours had what I thought was a slight transmission clunck if you face forwards downhill so you have a very slight roll forward when you select reverse and come on and off throttle you got the clunck well more of a click really but there was something
same if you have a slight roll backwards and in drive on / off throttle gave the same clicking, warranty issue on the valve, which means half the exhaust gets replaced all the way to the rear boxes

does sound similar to yours

I also get a similar clunking noise but mine is the sc,,doesn't do it all the time just now & again.

Hi,
could hear it/do it on the flat, but it was not a thud, just a click as if back lash in the transmission somewhere

soon as dealer heard it they knew it was the butterfly valve (although they are one of the few decent dealers )

could be the same, just hard to get a name on the sound, but it sounds like something knocking engaging
