Hi all, new to the site and have today picked up my new SVR

Come from a series of Audi RS’s, and traded in a 2017 RS6 performance for the SVR. Totally different car but just as fantastic in a slightly different way

Looking forward to getting used to it. Debated for a long time on colour but in the end went for red with the full carbon pack and carbon bonnet

Any tips on running in would be welcome!

Welcome to the nut house,,nice looking svr,as for running in it like any engine take it steady for the 1st few miles on start up then once it’s up to to temp drive it like you stole it & enjoy.

Hi Lem and welcome. A fantastic looking car you have there. Ed on here has the same colour.

I collected mine at the end of June then took it straight into Europe at a nice steady pace for the first thousand miles.

Its running beautifully and so far thank goodness no issues at all.

I have said on here before an SVR or RS6 are the ultimate everyday cars, with the SVR just edging it imo as i,m sure you will soon agree.

congrats! I've had mine now for 1 month and am very pleased with it and have a smile every time i drive it with that awesome engine noise Just reached the first thousand miles now myself…

Ive always taken the approach of allow the various temps to get up to temp / in green before opening it up and easy for first few hundred miles re tyres but otherwise just treat the car well and it will treat you back has always been my view

Congratulations! Looks amazing. What a great colour and the black wheels, exposed carbon hood look really great with red.

Even though my dealer said to drive it like you stole it during break in I still take it easy for the first 1000 miles and always have with my Audi's and now my 3rd Land Rover. I picked up my SVR two weeks ago. I just try to keep the rpms around 4000 and below for the first 500 miles and then slightly higher once in a while for the next 500 miles, up to 5000 rpms or more but not redline until past 1000. And also I don't drive at the same speed or gear for extended periods of time, giving the engine lots of variety. But so hard to be tame with a beast like this!

As others have said, the SVR is the ultimate daily driver. With my family in the car I often put it in auto terrain or comfort and turn off active exhaust for more mild manners but then on the highways put it in dynamic and active exhaust on and... wow just incredible. When I was younger my dream car was always a 911 or R8 but now I'm not interested and the SVR checks all the boxes for fun + practicality. 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR – Bosphorus Grey

In over three years of wonderful ownership I can probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of trips I’ve made when the car doesn’t end up in Dynamic and Sport mode. And I drive it every day.
