How to get battery back on!

We have a RRS 2006 HSE and we had the problems that looked like the battery failing so we have bought a new battery. OH took it of but now he can’t get it back on?! How do you get battery back on step by step or link to a video please? We have looked on You Tube but can’t find one for our year or model! Laughing Big Cry Thank you!

Which battery did you buy? Why can't he refit it? Won't it physically fit or is there some other issue?

I bought a Yuasa battery which I found didn't fit the bottom of the battery box. There was a flange on the bottom of the battery that was fouling on a lip at the bottom of the battery box. A few minutes trimming a bit of the battery box lip (not the battery!) allowed the battery to fit perfectly.

The battery is a straight lift out, lift in change provided the battery is the same as the LR original. You might need to check that the cables at the rear of the battery box are clear - be careful in this area as the engine and transfer box ECUs live here. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

After trying for an hour he finally says it’s too big for where it should go so I think the garage ordered the wrong one. They put the reg number in to get vehicle details so not sure how they can get the wrong battery.

Which battery make, model and size should be in the RRS? It’s a 2.7 HSE on 2006. I can’t find the service book to find battery details.

90Ah should do it from memory. Or 100

If you put both batteries on the floor (next to each other) you should be able to see significant differences.

It's an 019 and is available in various outputs - the diesels require 90Ah / 825A. Go for a larger capacity to give a bit of leeway on cold starting etc. As I mentioned, it's possible the battery is the correct overall size but there can be a small lip or other protrusion that gets in the way. If in doubt, get one from Land Rover but expect silly money for it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
