So, over the weekend, my wife texted me to say there was an oil light on the car. Now I'm not there right at the moment, but after a bit of digging it turns out that it was the red EML light. Normally that wouldn't cause any concerns, but given the car: 2015/16 - 65 plate, LR Approved Used under warranty, just over 20k miles, I figured just call it in to LR Assist and let them sort it out.

Am I right in thinking it was registered after 1/9/16, if so it's still under manufacturers warranty so nothing to do with the Approved warranty. That being the case, unless LR say you've damaged it, it's down to them to put it right.

They'll probably explain it away as a function of being Edinburgh.

Is the pre-paid taxi to take you to the airport? If so saves the worry of leaving your car there. If it's for a holiday driving in the UK I'd wait until I had the keys and tell them they can have it back when yours is fixed. That being said, Iv'e never owned a LR in warranty so don't know how things work, my most recent new car was a Honda Civic, no need of the warranty there then. |

Hopefully they'll keep our car, and I can cancel the parking and get my £80 back. |

One of the members on here left his car at the dealers while on holiday and came back to damaged rims and 40 plus miles on it. If it's not gone yet I would be inclined to take lots of pictures of it's condition, just in case. |

To be fair, someone (i.e. not me in the household) has already pre-dinged all the alloys. That being said, I think I'll get my wife to go round the car and take photos of everything.

I recently had a problem with my car (a snapped £1 bolt - that required the engine to be taken out to drill it out and replace). The car replacement was the most poorly set up part of the whole recovery/repair, with them first not knowing what they had, then when they did find out they had a Jaguar available at the dealership, not being able to get the car to me nor allow me to come and pick it up outside office hours (which is when I work too).
