Fuji White L320, thoughts on gloss black mirrors and handles

As the title asks, I need to replace my door handles due to damaged clips and some thin paint areas and was going to get them in Fuji White like the rest of the vehicle. I then parked next to a Disco 4 with black pack outside Rimmer Bros in Lincoln and loved the contrasting Fuji White body with black handles. Has anyone done this and got photos or have thoughts? I also have chrome mirror caps which I hate and I’m thinking they would look good in Gloss Black too, maybe even fit the later Disco 4 indicator mirrors, any thoughts on how they would look?

Please post photos if you’ve seen/tried this. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Not sure about door handles as hate white cars personally, but this is what Disco/RRS2 mirrors look like on a RRS1

They do look good, is the wiring connector the same or did you modify the mirror loom and use a separate connector for the indicator? Have you covered the old indicator holes with Autobiography badges? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

It was 2/3 years ago I fitted the mirrors to mine, If I remember correctly it was a simple mod as the plugs were the same, the repeater wire is simply connected to the relevant wire in the mirror plug, I did have some spare bits of wiring harness laid around so managed to find some lengths of wire with the correct pin at one end so fitted directly into the multiplug and just soldered the other end to the repeater lamp feed. The only other issue I had was as I have the surround camera system and the puddle light, is a integral part of the camera on the RRS1 but it only involved moving the wire to a different position in the plug and changing the CCF files to tell the car it had puddle lights fitted. Couldn't get the RRS2 cameras to work as they are totally different which was quite a challenge, ended up fitting some of the rear spoiler reversing cameras in the end which worked out quite well eventually.

Just stuck some badges over existing repeater lamp hole.

Cheers

Black mirror covers and handle covers fitted. Had some trouble with the smaller door handle caps but powerfulUK have sorted it all out. 👍

I don’t know if I should leave the mirrors 1/2 and 1/2 or go fully black. I’m still considering the later Disco 4 mirrors too. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Nara Bronze

Apologies for resurrecting this. I have just fitted the gloss black mirror covers on my Nara Bronze RRS, it also a black grille and side vents, which I think look good against the bronze. Anyway I was going to fit the matching black handle covers, but noticed at the weekend that the small rear portion of the rear offside handle isn’t sitting properly. Looking at it it looks like the clip at the front is broken. My question is do the rear bits come off easily? I’ve not tried in case I make it worse. Do I need to replace the small part with a new genuine one before fitting the black covers? Current: 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE

I bought the replacement covers not the skins. The covers replace the existing parts whereas the skins stick on the existing covers. I prefer the covers as they fit how they should, skins stand a little prouder and if you have the black rubber lock buttons the skins become obvious. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

You now need the roof wrapping black as it looks odd with white roof, black pillars & mirrors then white body. This is my old red edition with wrapped roof.

It has crossed my mind, I’ve now got a set of Hybrid L405/L494 wing mirrors in black fitted and carbon finished wheels. I’m working on fitting Meridian sound, Blind Spot Monitoring and Water wading. I’ve also almost finished wiring the L405 Electrochromic wing mirrors and just got the last 2 cameras to fit to the front bumper using 2016 Disco 4 brackets. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
