can't wait mate. been told that you cant use electric mode until batteries have warmed up i am hoping you can answer that when you get the car.

I will let you know. I cant see that being the case, it certainly isn't with my current XC90 Phev. You can 'Precondition' the battery whilst it is on charge to give maximum range

I was told the same about the batteries needing to get to operating temperature before you can use electric only mode last week when I was in Land Rover Glasgow North asking about buying an RRS PHEV, big mistake on JLR’s behalf not to include the park heat function that operates only when the car is plugged into a charging point. Like the Volvo I can also preheat the Mini’s cabin and batteries only when plugged in BUT Mini will always pull away in electric mode unless the battery is totally flat or you floor the throttle when it will run both electric and petrol engines. I believe the BMWs and Mitsubishi also have battery pre-heaters when plugged into the charger and will run in EV mode from pull away if you have pre-heated the batteries. BMW and Mini have a timer function too so you can tell the car when to charge and heat and do it in off-peak periods. This morning I received my ChargePlace Scotland RFID card that allows me to use their chargers all over Scotland for free.......... card costs £20 pa though! They have >300 charging terminals iin towns and villages all over the place - even in some very remote locations around Scotland. They are all listed on the Zapp Map app, along with their operational status and if there is a car using the charger. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

According to the manual preconditioning to maximise range is possible
http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/documen...c/G2193823

It would also appear that EV mode is not possible if ambient temperature is lower than -4

EV Mode

From the manuals it is difficult to tell whether pre-conditioning refers to the car's climate or the batteries themselves, but if I had to guess I would say the climate.
However, I am going to check this with my dealer.

If the petrol engine is required on most winter days in the UK then I will reject and cancel the car as not fit for purpose. - and I'm sure the new emissions rating will have it well outside of ULEV targets making it practically unsaleable.

If it is quite happy to operate in electric mode first thing every morning apart from temperatures below -4 then it is not much different from my Volvo PHEV which kicks in the fuel engine only on the rare days we get temperatures that low in the midlands.

Maybe all these challenges are why only test production is happening at the moment and I still don't have a build date for my car Rolling Eyes

I agree that the manual is not very clear as to what 'preconditioning' actually does
I also have an XC90 Phev and the manual for that is also not clear

I cant really see that the Range Rover won't operate in the same way as the Volvo and be able to use EV mode, 'Pure' in the Volvo, without having to warm the battery first

Time will tell, I am due to collect mine on 7th June Smile
I hope that it won't have to go back, having waited so long Rolling Eyes

Jeez that isn’t very nice but better now than having to find the fault yourself after you have taken delivery.

I was sat in the showroom this morning doing some paperwork when a transporter with my new car on the top deck pulled up outside! Delivery 15th June after it has had GTechnic Serum Ultra applied.
Some photos of it unprepared here http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic49175-45.html 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
