Steering assist requires you by law to take hold of the steering wheel every minute which is such a pain it renders the feature pretty pointless. Although there is a point to making sure you are safe of course!

I can’t see where it says Apple CarPlay is included. Think someone’s jumping the gun there.

Appleplay was never included Smile

Williams Land Rover Manchester informed me about Apple Play being the major change for MY19. He seemed fairly sure but I guess that doesn't have much weight. MY16 (65) RRS, HSE, White, 21" 507s, Pan/Black Roof, 7 Seats, Ebony/Cirrus, Surround Cams, Fully Color Coded

I think Apple CarPlay is mentioned in the dealer brief but nowhere else for some very strange reason...maybe it’s been pulled!

Sounds like it’s got about 0.5 seconds slower.

CarPlay would be a welcome addition because it means JLR will give up doing the infotainment themselves which can only be a good thing. 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR

Other manufacturers still develop their own infotainment. CarPlay isn’t without issues on other cars.

In my SQ7, Android works flawlessly whilst Carplay doesn’t display track info, you can’t use the phone from the steering wheel controls and plugging in when you get in the car starts up CarPlay only intermittently.

It was 6.5 so not a massive difference but now the same as the SDv6

I don’t get this? Whats the point of a more powerful and thirstier engine if its not faster than the cheaper and more economical engine Question

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Could LR have had to add some more efficient emissions reduction software or filtering to comply with future emissions controls? These things always have an effect on performance.
I’ve just specced up an exact replacement (I have to have LED headlights now that weren’t available 3 years ago) for my current car - it cost me £69500 inc options in March 2015, to replace now it is just shy of £79000 with the same options.
Interesting that they have dropped the 2.0ltr TD4 - poor sales numbers? We did warn them that it wasn’t going to be a big seller! I reckon that they think that those looking at a low powered diesel would sooner consider a PHEV or the straight Si4 now...... but not the huge price difference between the 2.0 TD4 and the PHEV, even if you are eligible for a BIK reduction with the PHEV. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

A very very good question! One I am hoping for an answer to. I haven't driven the SDv8 but have heard it's worlds apart in terms of driveabilty but not sure how it could be that much slower even with the extra weight!

How did you know the gearbox change, are there any other changes that I haven't spotted?

Also any ideas why the stronger gearbox? Its not a new model gearbox per-se so I wonder why the change?

Also fuel economy has gone down and emissions have gone up I notice, along with the slower speed!
