Leaving the fold...

Well, I’m sad to say The Old Man has made the decision to let the RRS go!
He’s been a tad unhappy with the amount he’s had to spend on it lately, coupled with his less than perfect health at the moment, so he’s let her go.
I just want to say a huge Thank You to all of you that contribute to this forum, especially those that have offered me advice in the short time I’ve been around.
Never say never though, so I’ll leave my account active just in case eh?😜
All the best guys.👍 Daily... Audi TT 240 qS, tasteful mods.
Weekend toy... 5' 6", 9 stone, original bodywork!

I am thinking about it going as I don’t use it enough but if fuel keeps going up I will use it as it has gas as well and that’s staying the same at moment Rolling with laughter

Proper up and down relationships we have with these cars. Mine feels pretty damn good after spending a lot of money on serious work a couple of weeks ago. Now the rear brakes are squeaking (again Rolling Eyes I had them done last year) and I can hear at least one front ARB bush on its way out. Only had them done about 6000 miles ago. Rear ARB bushes need doing soon as well, and the front left wheel bearing is starting to make some noise.

At some point I probably need to call it quits, but on a good day they can reel you back in again so easily and make you forget it all!

I am quite lucky with what i have spent but have a friendly garage that lets me do all my own work and i have what sounds like a front wheel bearing after just doing the front prop and other bits but when i think right its time for it to go a start her up and take her out and i forget all about the costs Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

Yep - as soon as you take them out for a blast you seem to forget it all Rolling Eyes Today I'm thinking about chopping it in for something else that doesn't have the fear factor, tomorrow I'll be thinking the complete opposite. Damned things.

Doesn't help that almost every time I've taken it on a long journey (holiday, family event etc) it's either gone into limp mode or been recovered home Big Cry behaves itself on the way to work and round town just so I don't sell it I reckon! Just been for a B road blast locally and loved every minute. Until I turned left into the drive and heard the bush, wheel bearing and brakes Rolling with laughter

Well I've done it too. Yes it was driving very well after the major works but the amount of maintenance was just getting a bit long in the tooth. Always wondering what will need replacing next and when. I just fell out of love with it overall, mine was pretty high maintenance. Picked up an S5 V6 TFSI with 50,000 miles full ASH. F***ing quick, not quite as smooth but very comfortable. Entertainment system miles better.

Nothing is quite like driving an RRS so maybe I'll get another in the future. Thanks for all the help on this forum Thumbs Up
