Reduced Performance

Hello All,

Strange one... I have 3 times now been driving and get a "reduced engine performance" on the display.

If I restart the engine, everything is fine.

If I check with IID tool, there are no errors related to the engine, gearbox etc.

Do you have any ideas what I should check?

No smoke. Will check hoses and intercooler, but surely if it was the intercooler, would I not get it almost permanently?
Today I had to leaving work, and then drove 50kms perfectly.

Could be a range of problems but like Andrew above split intake manifold was my issue. Quick trip to local indy and soon diagnosed.

Drove fine all day (approx. 100Km), and then suddenly gave an error this evening.

I left the engine on, plugged in IID, and got the error: P023D-22

I cleared this error, and engine ran fine afterwards.

So... it could be the sensor, pipe, intercooler or even turbo.

I will start by cleaning the sensor, and if necessary replacing that first, but I will keep you informed.

Iirc -22 is over boost, I used to see that when my inlet manifold was cracked and there was a boost leak. A week or so later it blew a hole big enough to get your thumb in and we diagnosed the problem Laughing

There are other likely places that boost leaks can happen, and this thread might be useful http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/post522326.html

Ref potential turbo failure all I can say is when my SDV6 ate BOTH the f Censored ers at the same time the car simply shut off straight away. At 40mph. Coasted to a stop. Scary, but had I being doing my usual 70mph (plus some margin for error Laughing ) up the M74 I'd have a tan coloured drivers seat now with the rest still being the original spec black.

Somewhere north of £3.5k later all fixed. It shutting off and me not trying to crank it or anything but having it recovered straight to my local indy saved the engine.

am starting to get this sorted. I have ordered new pipes to make sure that it isn't these.

When you say that it could be the inlet manifold, do you mean part LR032723 or LR032724?

Thanks.

Nick
