Suspension - Extended mode

Hi All,

I have an issue with my RR sport after it has just come out of the garage having had the front diff, front, middle and rear propshafts replaced as well as the radiator and associated cooling system pipework.

The problem is that the suspension will not stay down in access mode. When the switch is pushed to lower the car, it lowers until it reaches the bottom and then immediately begins re-inflating back to its middle setting, an error appears on the dash saying vehicle in extended mode. I have tried re-pressing the button but then all you get is the switch illuminating and flashing with no reaction from the suspension at all.

Any ideas or work arounds known to this issue, i have tried everything including reading faults but have come up with nothing so far.... Any help would be gratefully received..

First thing is to look at the 4x4 info screen and see if any of the wheel sensors are flashing orange (the small bars at the top and bottom of each wheel image). Lower the vehicle whilst watching this screen and see if one does flash orange just before it self raises.

Second thing would be to check that there is nothing caught in any of the suspension arms that might cause it to "bottom out" early. If it can't go down to what it thinks is access mode then it will assume the belly is on the ground and lift. That is the system working correctly to protect the vehicle.

Next, check that all of the height sensors are physically undamaged / correctly located.

Lastly, take it back and tell the garage to sort it out. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Had this happen to me 7 months ago.. a new suspension airbag and sensor along with the calibration rectified the fault.. try cleaning the height sensors first..
