Is Topix accurate?

Having been forced to change my car due to faults that could not be rectified and also couldn't live with, I bought a 4.4 diesel my16 on a two year pcp 15k per annum with finance via Oracle 6.2% ( for those who like details ) great service as always I must say from Oracle!

Anyways these were the options advertised on the car:

Upgraded alloys (never seen these before and they are gorgeous)
Rear seat entertainment
Privacy glass
Deployable side steps

Only after picking up the car did I discover the other options not disclosed below:

Large washer bottle
Rear climate
Full parking package
Dual view
Extended wood pack
Full size spare
Adaptive head lights

Now I know you might be asking how I didn't spot these, but on the test drive i simply didn't as it was a flying visit and didn't have time to check all over the car as normal as im just to busy at work so my mind wasn't on the ball this time!

Point is why didn't Topix show these costly extras(over Β£3k worth) do dealer's use a different system to Topix or is it hit or miss as to whether it throws up an accurate account of the car? MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver

Dealers use a system called Vista and that is usually spot on whereas TOPIx can have omissions and additions (possibly related to additional options added at later dates or removed).

Good that you got additions rather than omissions though Smile

Even Vista isn’t accurate - it depends on a typist inputting the right info in and if that isn’t done accurately then you shiny new car comes with bits missing or bits missed off............. have several teeshirts as a reward! 3 years ago Vista was supposed to be automated............; as you sat with the dealer adding options they were supposed to go straight into Vista but bad experiences have shown me that it was all smoke and mirrors in the case of one dealership, they had to admit that they had to go in and manually input my order later.........
I does make you wonder what dealership staff do when working out the spec of a used car they are putting on their forecourt - I recently saw (and posted here) an advert for a 5.0ltr V8 S/C Autobiog.......... when I went to the dealers to have a look the car was actually an SVR - the colour show on the Approved Used website was described as Estoril Blue which was what my antennae twitching as I thought that they had mixed up Loire Blue or Velocity but the car was definitely Estoril and was definitely an SVR - no Antonio is available with Recaro style seats in the front! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
