Not sure about the earlier S/Cs but in the later 5.0L the fuel filter is a integral part of the fuel pump and is not a serviceable item, it is located inside the fuel tank, so tank would need dropping to gain access to it. Not sure but based on L/R prices wouldn't imagine a genuine pump will be cheap.

yes geoff, there is a mechanic near me who knows his stuff when it comes to land rovers, he connected his kit to the car and said that every cylinder was coming up with a misfire and on a run the car felt a bit underpowered, i also have the oil injection system installed, he said cost would be about £1000 + vat to have both heads repaired.

Hi Geoff, i didnt think it was under powered, i tought it was pretty rapid, it was the mechanic when taking it for a test drive, that told me it seemed under powered compared to other sc models he has driven, might be worth getting a code reader on your car to see what codes are coming up

On etruely dumb idea for an off road vehicle where getting a load of dirty fuel is a real possibility. I think the Poms need to get into the real bush and learn what 4WD is all about. Some of the design decisions makes me wonder if these cars are built for posers or people that need to go bush ! M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |
