We have owned our 2006 RRS for 12 months today and it has been a great car - fantastic to drive and perfect for taking the family out and about for fun road trips.

There have been a few 'niggles' to sort but nothing major for a 12 year old car (now showing 79,000 miles) - I will note these further down the post.

In the 12 months we have covered 6,000 miles including a 2,600 mile round trip to Spain via France (I work from home so the annual mileage is low).

The only car I would change it for would be another (newer) RRS.

Thanks to this forum I have made a few changes/fixes:

SUPERCHARGED/SPORT badges (mine were missing) on the left hand side of the tailgate (for some reason my Land Rover one is on the wrong side!)
NSF suspension arm replaced
Centre prop bearing
Rear anti roll bars
Removed damaged wnidow tint film and replaced (didn't do the rear door glass as our little dog likes to scratch it).
New condensor for the air-con
Replaced missing driver's seat recline button
Replaced tyres with 275/45 20s - improved the ride quality significantly.
Replaced damaged battery cover
Replaced missing rear tow eye cover
Replaced cracked tailgate brake light
Replaced cracked and damaged number plate lamps
Replaced rear wiper arm assembly as it was discoloured/tatty
Refixed the metal strips on the running boards (mine fell of on the drive a couple of weeks ago and the fixing clips were very badly corroded).
Replaced wheel nuts as they had become swollen (must do the locking nuts next).

Nice looking motor what sort of mpg did you get going down to spain

17-18 mpg at a steady 70 mph - on the long runs south of Paris.

Around the cities (Paris/Barcelona) it dropped - as one would expect.

An unmolested early RRS is still a great car to see. I read of people complaining of rusting underneath but I have yet to see one with any body corrosion worth noticing, it seems that Land Rover at least got the paint system right! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

How easy was the rear brake light to change? Mine seems mis-shapen! Steve.

The brake light was easy one to do (I followed a few YouTube guides) - took me about 30 mins.

Note: make sure you check the light has been connected properly before you put the tailgate back together (like a fool I didn't as I had incorrectly connected the connectors so had to dismantle swap them over and reassemble)

I agree on the boot badges - at the time I purchased the car it was like this (incorrect rear wiper) and I debated about de-badging, but stuck the new ones on the wrong side:

Haha...oh well, at least your an expert on rear brake lights now I just noticed you have the later / upgraded rear tailgate strip too  Steve.

You need a boot button cover to finish it off now
