I still have 2 years to go on the service agreement and the car is now out of warranty but I agree about the indies as I take my Defender all the way to Killin for its annual going over and MOT - this year they will also get the cam/timing belt to do - third change in my ownership, comes up every 7 years on the TDi300 motor as I never get the mileage up in between. I dread to think what a main dealer would charge for that, or how long that they would want the car for. The garage was very disappointed when I told them this morning that I was selling the car and not replacing it with another Land Rover product or a Jaguar one - when they were a family run business I bought my first 6 Land Rover vehicles from them and have mostly used them for services too as they were great (especially for services) and took good care of the car and pride in the job. They are now part of the Pentland brand aka John Clark Group and I noticed this morning that very few of the staff who were with them when they were family owned are still there - at least out of those who face the public. At least they didn’t become swallowed up by the Arnold Clark empire.......... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The brakes will be fine, they just need bedding in as it will be surface rust on the discs,,when I took my14 AB sdv6 into LR for its 30000 mile 3 year service they said the brake fluid was contaminated,,i brought it home & checked it with the tool I have & it was fine, brake fluid lasts for years.

It is well known, I look after many customers with cars under manufacturers warranty, as well as informing them of any warranty issues that should be dealt with FOC by the dealers Some people just prefer a main dealer service for the manufacturers warranty period, as well as those sold with a service plan, as in Tim's case |
