Transmission fault

past couple of weeks if i selected sport mode the message Transmission fault would appear
only to disappear when i turned the car off,
well after searching the forum i changed both brake lights and still no change
then i changed the battery !

had a really good road test in normal and sport mode and the cars working fine now

so thanks for the info fellas
after swapping the battery i checked the old one, in every cell the water was well below the plates !!

They throw a hissy fit about many things but a crap battery does tend to annoy them. Similar prob myself and eventually traced to a failing alternator that took out my battery. Both replaced and problems gone.
