Tim, I love your thinking, but would it be your "last new car", but do you only intend to live for another 4 or 5 years Question Look at your vehicle history, how long do you normally keep your cars Question

OK so you have green blood running through your veins, but remember a new car is only a new car for a couple of months. Thumbs Up In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Buy a 2 door Classic that some-ones renovated, a CSK is like hen's teeth but will rise in value dramatically. Don't go for one needing work you'll waste your money unless you can do the work yourself.

Sorry to say that the SVR will only lose money. Mine was £106K, in 3 years and 30000 miles it will be worth less than £50k and I expect will have acquired a reputation for being expensive to run and especially to fix.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but this made me smile.

Nigh on 3 years on and the SVRs are going for closer to £80K than £50K and not (beyond the usual JLR foibles) got a bad reputation for being far more expensive or particularly unreliable.

I think you will find that nobody is getting £80,000 for a 3 year old 30,000 miler when they trade it in, that is the price dealers mark then up to when THEY sell them approved used, it isn't the same as what they will pay you for the inconvenience of taking your used one off your hands - you will be told your Estoril Blue one with black interior is the wrong colour outside and in and will be hard for them to sell on, the miles should be nearer to 10k not 30k so you have above mileage also rendering the car harder to sell, then they will tell you nobody wants to buys gas guzzling V8 S/C when you don’t believe the things that you won’t accept as gospel truth that they said before that! Oh and the other thing that will will be held against younis thatbyours isn’t one that has SVO hand build treatment but is a standard model thus making it harder to sell on too............ 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

^^^

I was referring to the price they're selling for on AutoTrader and suchlike, agree that trade-in value would be much less and every excuse in the book used against the car even though at sale time the same salesperson will gush over the same features and extras...

If you don't put any miles on it and you wait 50+yrs there's just a chance you'll win a return.
