Great stuff, thanks. I'll see what they have to say and I'll report back on feedback on their customer service.

Hi There pjg,
I have used DS Automotive in the past and not had the best of experiences unfortunately,
I used them for a standard service on my wife's Freelander and they were fine, expensive but fine we had just bought the car so wanted it looked over by 'experts' all good, the facilities and the location was also nice and local to me so happy days!
I next used them about 3 months later for the Freelander that now needed a Dual mass Flywheel,
the DMF cost me just a little over £1200 so not the cheapest around but I thought well at least they know what they are
doing with a Land Rover. When we collected the car on the way home my wife said its not driving great and is pulling to the
left,Once we got home I took for a spin and yes it was pulling quite bad and it certainly wasn't pulling prior to going in, I gave them a call to report my findings and was polite and was met with 'well its nothing we have done, it must have been like it before', so I said is it possible that something hasn't gone back quite right? ie drive shaft, lower arm track rod etc? and was again told that they had removed nothing that would effect the steering. I had to then say I would like them to look over it as I was unhappy with the work carried out, never once did they offer to take a look or take any kind of responsibility, I drove it there the next day and left it with them for half a day (we will try and fit it in!!) My wife got a call to collect it later that day and when she went in to collect her keys the guy at the counter slid her keys (she said threw!) across the counter and said we couldn't find anything wrong with it, she left a bit shocked and disappointed and drove off in her car that was now driving perfectly!
Now to me that would suggest that they did find/change something and that's fine just say we are really sorry we should have noticed that and that's fine thing happen, but no nothing.

More recently I contacted them regarding Gearbox flushing on the RRS, many people seem to get quotes for this service for round about the £300 mark but I cannot find prices anywhere near that in the Essex/S.E area?, I got one quote for £499 locally so thought I would see what DS Automotive could do (begrudgingly). I rang them and got the same guy I dealt with before! (unhelpful Curly haired chap), I mentioned a gearbox flush and he said Oh we wouldn't do anything like that, we would do and oil and filter change and if that made no improvement he would suggest that you take it to a transmission specialist, and the cost for this service £465!!!

So for me I wouldn't go near them and that's a shame as they are 5 Mins away and I'm sure some of the guys there no their stuff! Regards,

Danny
