I don't think I would want to get my expensive new VW serviced by a dealer which spends 90% of its time servicing Polos and cheap Golfs and two times a year they get a expensive car in to service.

The problem with VW it is very peoples car, so in answer to the question wonder if this will be a competitor? My thought is no.

Maybe this time they can build a Toureg without front doors that sag so badly its a strugle to close them.

I'm not sure comparing it to a Q7 or a Bentley thing is a positive for the Toureg. Both the Q7 and the Bentley are so ugly anything is better even the Korean stuff.

The Touareg has always been on my list as a replacement should I decide that LR have had enough of my money. It is reasonably off road capable and has a proper towing capacity. The new one's interior looks very nice - nicer to my eyes than LR's new interior - the screen is high up: you have a chance of keeping half an eye on the road whilst poking at it to change some setting that should really be changed with a proper button.

The Cayenne would also be good as it's basically a reworked Touareg anyway. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I have owned 2 V10 Touaregs last an R50. Did not opt for a third as there was little difference. Very well made and great technology that worked. the first V10 was designed to be better than the then Range Rover and IMO was much better. I like the look of it too especially the dash. Will be very interesting to some some comparisons when it is driven here.
