Tailgate fault

2008 tdv8 tailgate won't open , read several post about this issue but having no luck , this morning I had difficulty shutting tailgate due to a over filling the boot area , having removed the item that was preventing the tailgate from shutting I closed the tailgate but when I went back to open the tailgate later in the day it wouldn't open ?? I may have accidentally been pressing the glass section button when I previously closed the tailgate however I now can't open either section and a message on the dash indicates the tailgate is open but I can't open either section , have tried the different methods i.e. Holding buttons on dash for 30 seconds etc , you can hear the meconism clicking when you press the round button to open the lower tailgate but it still don't open , any thoughts very welcome oh I forgot to mention that I have checked the fuse and it appears to be fine I've noticed that the glass section does appear to be closed fully but I'm not totally sure because you can press down on it and there's slight movement but I'm not sure if this is normal as I don't tend to use it ( like most people I guess ) someone did mention in a post that it's possible to remove the trim inside to get to the top section catch but I'm not sure how ??

All fixed !!! And all because someone posted exactly how to solve this issue when they had a landrover technician show them how to open the tailgate. Push the tailgate and slightly downwards when pressing the lower tailgate button once ! It may take several attempts or if your lucky just the once there is a knack to it !!! I love this forum and a massive thankyou to each and everyone who helps

Hi, sorry to jump in but how do you go about opening the top section of the tailgate? I can't for the life of me get mine open...
