Hi just joined. Looking to get a deal on a new RRS MY18.

So far tried Guy Salmon in Stockport and Guy Salmon in Knutsford. Tried getting them to match Rockar price and APR. Both dealers stated they cannot move on the APR. One dealer said they could do something on the discount similar to Rockar. No movement on the APR, as they would provide finance via Land Rover Financial services and this is apparently fixed. There web site states they provide finance from LFS and a limited number of other financial providers. I take it they really mean only LFS.

Does anyone know if Land Rover Manchester or Chester are able to move on the APR?

Guy Salmon have lost two sales with me because of their inability to move on interest rates and discounts. Try Listers, they have just matched Rockar's deal, but I have bought my last 7 cars from them and they said to me that they wanted to keep me as a customer. I'm not sure in reality how much weight that statement holds, but it certainly has worked for me!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ 2010 RR 5.0 Autobiography

Just buy it from Rockar - they use LFS too.

My dealer matched Rockar (actually beat it slightly) without much fuss at all. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

Buy from Rockar is an option but I would have to get it delivered at a cost and mess about with the part exchange and all the possible problems that entails with agreement on the actual part exchnage value.

I would prefer to collect it locally from the dealer as that is part of the buying experience.

And that is why I bought from a main dealer, they gave me a better trade in and have also guaranteed the future value of the trade in for when my RRS is ready for collection...... 2010 RR 5.0 Autobiography

Which dealers are matching Rockar in the Southwest? Iโ€™m in Devon and about to start walking into showrooms to get quotes, Rockar will deliver but itโ€™s a driven delivery and I donโ€™t want someone else putting 200 miles on my new car! Iโ€™ve bought BMW and Audi online before and always had trailer delivery foc.

Rockar is a LR main dealer.

I got mine from Taunton (I think the same group own all the JLR dealers in the SW beyond Bristol). RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

I am going to see what finance rates Oracle can do next rather than run around trying to get JLR to play ball.

Probably will wait until near the end of this quarter and see what dealers are in need of sales.

Thanks for the replies, part of the enjoyment for me apart from the speccing is the haggling! I know the dealers will always make a profit but as long as I feel Iโ€™ve saved a few extra pounds Iโ€™m happy.

Agree totally, if you cast your net wide enough there are always a few dealers willing to negotiate on price, some refuse to budge like my local dealer, so I take great delight in using them for warranty work & servicing when I buy my cars elsewhere, keep trying to tell them but they wonโ€™t move from full price or headline offers that every dealer does.

Thats all I use my local dealer for is warranty work and servicing and only because I work in the same road as them. It's a shame that they so ridged on their pricing structure!! Oh well its there loss...... 2010 RR 5.0 Autobiography
