United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Maya Gold
Intelligent start stop

Hi Guys, I have one for you.... I have replaced both batteries and the stop start still does not work ... here's the stupid bit if I remove the plug from the negative BCM on the battery it will work fine until I turn off the ignition, Then my start stop does not work again until I remove and replace the plug, just a simple pull the plug...then plug back in and it will work again, Any ideas what I can do to make it work all the time? Yes I know 95% of owners would like it not to work but I would like the choice.

Regards
Steve

Not sure if it’s same issue on sport as D4.
However my one had various stop start issues.
Luckily finally solved under warranty.
New battery and module plus software update.
I believe 2014 was a bad vintage for this equipment.

My stop/start stopped working once after the battery got discharged and didn’t work even after it was fully charged. The module needed to be reset (or something like that) using a diagnostic tool to make it forget the discharge incident. Never had the issue after that. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Mine doesn't work & I'm glad it doesn't I think its annoying the engine stopping evrytime you come to a stop.

Andy.

Initially after buying the car, the first thing I used to do after getting in was to disable stop/start. Then began to try it out and realised how well it worked. I like it that when you don’t want engine cutting out you can brake lightly rather than all the way so can still have control over it. I was annoyed when it developed the above issue and wanted it sorted ASAP. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

I agree.

Do you remember the advice to not stop your engine immediately after driving at speed, so as not to cut the oil supply to the turbos? Oh...and then someone put stop-start on to save 1% CO2 emissions on the type approval test. What a good idea. Shocked

In my view, I bought a luxury car with heating and air con in it. Why would I want that to stop every time the wheels stop turning? Besides which I think the propensity for the engine to cut out when you are anticipating a right turn in traffic is down-right dangerous.

My start up routine is 'push starter button, cancel stop-start'.
