Hi guys i am a newbie to the site . and am glad i joined as the breadth and wealth of info is fantastic , Now i do have a problem myself , don't know if this has been covered before . I have replaced the knackered 6 cd stereo with a RR single cd stereo , The problem i have is that it seems the car still thinks it is the 6 cd stereo and as a result it wont load a cd , ive tried disconnecting the battery but its still the same , has anyone any ideas or do i have to replace it with a 6 cd stereo , Thanks, Gazmag.

You would need to change the ccf from high line stereo or put another 6 disc changer in

The CD load process is odd on the 6 disc machine (not sure on single

The speaker wires are in the wrong place, for single disc, so as said, fit another 6

Ask one of the site sponsors on here if they can do it for a charge or invest in one if you are keeping the car then it would be worth it there is a group buy on here at the moment not a cheap tool but well worth having it

Need a £400 tool to change it. I'm not convinced that's all you need either, so much cheaper to buy the correct head unit

I thought it was car lol either way your looking at about £300 for a second hand unit that's the cheapest i found on ebay you may get a better price of mmj on here or gentlemen of salvage but i would agree with Andy about the problem is with the unit you have put in
