It's definitely a different style of forum than most that I've frequented. And I've been reading forums since they started in the 90's. I was a big Audi fan before finally buying a RR Sport back in 2010. There is definitely an abundance of cynicism and negativity here. Sometimes it's surprising that some members actually buy a LR with all the mocking and hate. But I get it, it's frustrating when cars aren't 100% perfect. And everyone feels like they are experts in automotive design and marketing.

I think it’s because we’re grumpy. We are English after all (mostly). Noisy black one |

LOL. Well my mum and dad are English... so I'm only a little grumpy. Also Canadian and you know how annoyingly nice they can be. 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR – Bosphorus Grey |

Well when I joined the forum in 2012, after buying my first new RRS the forum was very positive. Unfortunately since then JLR’s quality control has dropped to a very poor standard, whilst at the same time they have been churning out cars with known faults and issues.

If JLR got their act together & started listening to customers & getting things right before they release vehicles we wouldn't have to moan.its not as if its the odd one its nearly every vehicle across the LR range & mostly electrical problems. Why is it most other manufacturers don't have the same problems & some have even better tech than JLR.

I noticed a change over the years, different people have different senses of humor, there was a few great members back in the day who upped and left for various reasons, selling and moving brand etc

In my opinion this is nothing to do with the quality of members posting but more so to do with the quality of the cars now coming out of JLR. I had an MY15 RRS and it was faultless in 2 years of ownership. I never had a single issue with the car.

I've been a member for a couple of years and find the support for problems which manifest themselves in older RRS invaluable. I also find the info on enhancements and modifications really good. Its almost as though within the forum there are two high level topics currently.

I joined my first forum in 2006 (Jag forum because I had issues). Initially it was to get help but I was soon hooked due to the interesting posts and characters much to SWMBOs annoyance

And some of is are a tad too long in the tooth too! On a serious note, Muddywheels is right. I joined this forum in June 2014 as it was a super source of information for the impending arrival of my new RRS. And I should hasten to add, it still very much is so. But over the past couple of years, there has been quite a bit of cynicism and in my opinion, that is down to the quality of cars Land Rover are pushing out of the factory gate. When I took delivery of my 5.0L Autobiography in December 2014, I had a couple of very minor issues and a badly upholstered seat. Everything was fixed under warranty and I had just under 3 years of trouble free motoring until I sold it. My only gripe was with the pathetic after sales customer service from Lookers in Battersea when it came to recalls and servicing. Last week I took delivery of a new SVR and (touching lots of wood) I have so far not encountered any of the infotainment / screens blanking out problems that I think almost every other MY18 owner has reported (I have 3 specific issues with the upholstering and a mark on the door card, which LR have already agreed to remedy under warranty). If I had encountered some of the problems other people have, for sure I would be ranting like a rabid Tasmanian Devil about it here and one reason for doing that is the people on this forum are superb. They tend to listen and offer constructive advice. I am slightly disappointed that the MY18 SVR doesn't sound quite as good as the previous one but I love her. But given the problems that people have been reporting here, I think I already know this will be the last RRS I buy. Jas Current RRS: MY18 SVR Previous RRS: MY15 RRS 5.0L Autobiography |

I owned a couple of Disco's V8's in the past and never had serious problems. I often miss them.
