Given the move to the split opening design rather than a shelf I am curious to know if anyone has any clever ideas for a cable solution that allows the opening of the lid to access the lower storage / cooler / fridge etc without unplugging the phone from the car or having a cable mess.

Was looking at something like this:

But not sure if the stretch will be enough to open without unplugging.

I did consider wiring into the compartment under the cup holder as this is how the plug and charge kit works but looks like alot of taking apart and drilling which not keen on doing!!
