The recently discontinued Hybrid RRS with the SDv6 powerplant only had 1mile electric range so what are they worrying about - if they can get it up to 2 miles range that’s a 100% improvement..........

I suspect that it is more like the weak performance from the 2.0 litre petrol engine when the battery range is used up that is worrying them - the engine is fine in the F-Pace when you watch it on the Grand Tour but that car is half the weight of an RRS and doesn’t have any 4WD system or battery (another approx 200kgs!) to push along either.

If my Mini Countryman’s delivery is push back yet again then I might go to the other extreme and see if I can find a 2013 L494 5.0 S/C at around the price the mini was going to cost me........ and b r saving the planet with an eco car. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I've seen reports in the media that jlr are scaling back production due to reduced demand, but clearly they are having issue meeting existing demand - I suspect there is some supply or production issue and the reports of scaled back production are to try and hide this.

My dealer has 30 plus orders of my18 sports and a grand total of 2 phevs

Been given a build date of 18th May so fingers crossed

My sales guy is a waste of time and its only when you mentioned you had a build date that i decided to ask him and he said he now did but i am not too sure as the handover/build dates don't match up, or have i ?

No I haven't got a vin. I got a call from JLR Customer Service giving me the build date which has since been confirmed by the dealer with a proposed handover date.

I was told that by a dealer in Nottingham in February - however, another dealer did accept my order at that time.
I went through Carfile.net

However my order is still 'on hold' on the factory system so no build/delivery dates as yet.
Not sure what the problem is here as different dealers seem to be quoting different reasons - batteries, wheels, software, etc.

I wish JLR would just be straight and tell everyone the real reason why- and when we can expect that deliveries will be starting.

Beginning to wish I'd gone with the XC90 - it'd be here by now

Latest news from local dealer is if you do not have a date for your Plug-In, you are unlikely to see it until the end of the year.
He quoted changes in the government testing and lay-offs in the workforce meaning production schedules are having to be radically altered.
He also said the only plug-ins built to date were to test the production line.

Not looking good and a total lack of communication from JLR.

The PHeVs are still being run as prototypes as they are having major issues with Hybrid range. You are unlikely to see one at a dealer this summer
