If you fit the newer AMK type compressor you will need to update the software.

Put into off road mode and removed the relay, removed the compressor quiet easily apart from top bolt, I am going to do a re seal as all in very good condition, local 4x4 dealer wanted £850 to replace, plus £100 if software required, whole job should only come to £75, fingers crossed, will take care with the case, thanks 👍🏻 |

Have re sealed the compressor, was not too bad, re fitted, had no messages on dash, seems to work better than before, so all good so far 👍🏻 |

You say "re-seal", do you know what the problem is?. The plastic end cap (where the air lines come out) have a tendency to crack between the air lines and can be tested by spraying soapy water on it and looking for bubbles. I had this on my D3, bought a cap of ebay for less than £30 and fitted it myself on the drive. No need to take the compressor off, just remove the lower cover.

Pre repair, had warning light on dash to say that normal height only, was slow to lift to standard height, kept saying raising on dash, re moved whole unit, placed new piston seals etc, new cap on air dryer and new internals etc, now no messages on driving, quicker to lift to normal height, all good so far, had no leaks pre repair that I’m aware of, apparently a common problem with these compressors👍🏻 |
