Just got 36k from a set of Toyo proxes STs, superb tyre and the car handled brilliantly in the wet and dry, new set of 4 just gone on. At £160 a corner for 22s these were a really good price, the car is 3 tonnes and tyres keep you on the road - and stop you if you hit the brakes! Sure you can buy cheap stuff but there is a reason the premium brands have an E or F rating for wear and grip....! TDV8 Java Black, Overfinch 22s |

Don't go too much on the EU tyre label ratings. You can get cheap tyres that will give A or B fuel ratings, but when these tyres are tested against more expensive ones, they are found lacking everywhere else.

Ignore the ratings on budget tyres, the Chinese just stick anything on them.I always put decent tyres on but not the top end as most the time your just paying for the name,,go for something like Toyos,Kumho,GT Radial or General grabbers, when I bought my SC it wanted 4 new tyres so I told dealer just to knock £800 of price as that what it would cost for 4x contis,,when I picked it up I drove from dealers to my garage & put 4x general grabbers on it & saved myself £300.

Glad you didn’t go for complete rubbish. I did about 18 months ago and they lasted for about 11k miles. They really were a very false economy. |

I’ve had Dunlop SP sport 8000 on the M3GT and it destroyed them. I then put Hankooks on it and they were better. Since then I’ve used Bridgestone, Toyo, pirrelli and Hankook and the Hankooks were an all rounder, the worst were pirrelli, good grip but wore out in 1/2 the mileage. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
