Does the headlight bulb need changing?

Hi All

Hope someone can give me advice as to if I need just to change the low beam bulb in my RRS TDV8 2008 or if its something else.

Normally if a bulb needs changing it stops working. This however has changed to a different colour , more a brown red hue.

Ive attached a picture showing the difference in colour.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, you have a Xenon bulb and the red tint is an indication it is about to die. Needs replacing

They often turn pink initially as the bulb decreases its ability to emit at the violet end of the light scale, as it now appears red/brown, the bulb has seen better days. New bulbs please Laughing Thumbs Up

I like Osram's "XENARC NIGHT BREAKER UNLIMITED". Nice white light without being blue so it's near to the original colour but just a touch whiter. Good brightness and even light output - some cheap bulbs can have inconsistent light output across the road for some reason. Osram do a Nightbreaker in H7 halogen too so you can get the same colour on the main beam fill-in lights.

The bulb type is given on the top of the headlight unit - it's moulded in to the "glass" and can be read when you open the bonnet. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
