Depends who you ask. There’s way too much scaremongering on here to make any sort of informed decision.
Mines for sale at the moment on Tootle, and if you were to believe everything that’s written on here I would only get £40-45k for it. The reality of an outright purchase on Tootle so far is highest bid at £50k from a JLR group, lowest bid is £49k from an independent buying agent who’d flog it to dealers. p/x I have been told to expect £2-3k more depending on the car I’m buying etc. I paid £62k 15mths ago. Sticker was £82k 27mths ago.
Those depreciation figures seem fair and realistic to me. People who think they can buy an £80k car and not lose circa 35% after the first few years are the ones who need to wake up and smell the coffee.
