A wee update, the video linked to above does apply to RRS steering wheel removal, but you have to find the RRS battery yourself !! Once that’s done it’s pretty easy. I’ve put a spare heated wheel on today that I bought off eBay and all is working (I swapped all the electrics out of my one into it) so mine has now gone off for a retrim 😊 Play: '59 VW Kabrio & '90 964

Hi Red Arrow, its going to be about £180. Thats fattening up the grip, retrimming in smooth premium Ebony and with Cirrus contrast stitching. I'll put some pics up once its back.

Unfortunately its a no go for me Red Arrow. Stripping the original leather off the heated wheel looks to be more or less impossible without risking the heater element which is like fuse wire through the foam that the leather is glued to. So I'm sticking with what I've got and will sell the spare heated wheel I'd bought.

What a shame -the standard wheel is way thin .

Yes the MY18 SVR's steering wheel is thicker. I have only done about 200 miles in mine but for an old git like me, I think it might be a tad uncomfortable on a long journey. I plan do do a 300 mile round trip this Saturday and will have a better opinion then.
