Over the 27,000 miles since I bought my TDV8 in March 2016, I've got 25.2 mpg overall. Mixture of driving short distances, some 90 mile round trips and a few of long distance (Scotland from Sussex and back). So I would have expected a V6 to perform better than that! Robin

I do London to Stirling in Scotland regualarly on a tankful, sat on the motorway at the speed limits and arrive with a 60 mile range showing on the dash however I have driven it pretty hard on a couple of occassions and arrived with vapours in the tank........ Route from Park Royal London to Stirling Sainsbury filling station Forecourt is 440 miles approx using the A40/M40/M42/M6/A74/M8/M9. Going south I can do it using a bit less diesel unless there is a strong head wind as there is more downhill work than uphill. In previous Sports I used the cruise control much more than I do in this one as it is a lot more fun to drive faster in it........ and they had a bigger tank so I could get from Stirling to London and back to Gaydon in Warwickshire before I was worrying about refuelling the TDv8’s or the 2.7. The killer for range on a long journey though is too much on and off the gas pedal, playing at SVR’;s or Ferrari’s on the motorway in a doiesel RRS really spoils the mpg but it is great fun! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
