I used to have a work colleague who bought new every 3 years. He was obsessed about changing his oil at 1000 miles - in case there was any stray metal filings.

However, firstly he only bought Vauxhall and secondly it was over 10 years ago. I think the quality of metal work and engineering has moved past the need for this. But I don't think its going to hurt - if you have money to throw away  SVR with a few bits from Urban and Glohh
