The MY18 screen issues intrigue me, based on what I have read the majority of issues with the velar software have now been resolved, I can't understand how they could now be having the same issues with the MY18 sport...

Might be worth getting up a poll to see if it's effecting all or just some cars?

*****UPDATE******

Yesterday the most recent firmware for the Incontrol Duo Screens was applied and this has mostly fixed the issues. Apparently all RR and RRS cars were being held back at the factory until this particular fix was ready.

The Incontrol dual screen is actually very good - especially when paired with a data SIM - its a shame they didn’t fully test the system before releasing these first few MY2018 cars since it’s totally ruined my “New car” experience.

I still have a few quirky issues with Bluetooth and my iPhone....

Now I hope I am not violating any rules by posting this, but a delivery is a delivery, despite it not being a Range Rover Sport. My wife, who usually chooses to drive a more modest car was due to have her vehicle replaced next week and I managed to pick up a very good deal on a new Peugeot 3008 SUV. It suits her needs perfectly as a school run and supermarket car, and the standard spec and features are just mindblowing for a vehicle of this price, and apart from the French badge, it doesn't even look that bad. So here goes:

Peugeot 3008 1.2 130 GT Line
Pearlescent White
i Cockpot with head up display
Tom Tom Navigation (and very usable it is)
Wireless phone charging plate
Lane Keep Assist
Lane Departure warning
Automatic emergency brake
Auto high beam assist
Blind spot monitoring
Rear view camera with rear aerial view
Electronic handbrake
Automatic speed limit recognition cameras
RRP. £27500
Purchase price £21500

Plus several other features which my wife is yet to discover.

I have no doubt that the car wont spend half of its lifetime in the workshop as mine has. What surprised me was the vehicle did not feel any inferior to an evoque and at half the price I do sometimes wonder what exactly we pay for when buying JLR products. So without further a do, here it is:

In the meantime I have now been in a FFRR AB for 3 weeks whilst the dealer is thinking of another way to tell me my driving style is the reason my RRS is on its 18th recovery. MY16 (65) RRS, HSE, White, 21" 507s, Pan/Black Roof, 7 Seats, Ebony/Cirrus, Surround Cams, Fully Color Coded

I have been a Range Rover driver for over 25 years and had very little trouble with any of them. But over the last 9 months I have wondered why I do not go elsewhere and spend my hard earned money.

Well I guess the only answer I can come up with is.....

When they are good, there is no other SUV to touch them Bow down

However, when they are bad they are the worst SOB's in the world Big Cry Big Cry Censored

But we still love them and there is nothing else really to compare. Bow down Bow down Bow down RRS SVR 2018

Following on from the Duo Screen issue - which on the whole is now stable - I should point out that my particular car also has the following bugs:

Bluetooth issues - specifically with iPhone
Hardly any of the heated seats work in the vehicle
The steering wheel left hand side buttons are seriously laggy and at times don't work at all
My dealer fitted roof rail (trim) has fallen off
My alarm triggers without reason and reports the car as stolen to the JLR call centre
Driver info screen Sat Nav display sometimes refuses to load

I know JLR is developing a reputation for shoddy Quality Control but this is the most problematic car i have ever owned. Needless to say JLR Customer Services seem to have run for the hills!

On a positive note - the car starts and I can drive from A to B - but so does my VW Golf that cost £50K less.

My advise for anyone receiving a new vehicle is to check over everything thoroughly before you leave the show room and sign on the dotted line.
