Have you crawled underneath and checked it? The centre bearing itself isn’t usually the issue but the bonded rubber surrounding it which perishes and breaks up. If you can get underneath (don’t forget to support vehicle, just in case the suspension drops from offroad height of its own accord Thumbs Up ) and grab the propshaft giving at a good push and pull, it’s obvious if there’s a problem. Lots of play and feels lose in the carrier. A torch and an inspection mirror to view the rubber around the bearing is a good idea too.

Thumbs Up

Also just noticed whilst swmbo was was reversing i could here what sounded like a universal joint type of clunk from behind the drivers wheel wondering if its the front prop that has a problem Whistle

More likely to be the CV joint on the half shaft. If it's had a split gaiter replaced then there is likely to be wear in the joint. I had a split gaiter replaced on my TDV8 and the CV joint started making noises a good 2 years later... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Well been back and it does appear to be the front off side driveshaft that is making the noise even though we could not make it do it whilst on the ramp so a new complete shaft ordered and should be here Monday Thumbs Up
