Have you crawled underneath and checked it? The centre bearing itself isn’t usually the issue but the bonded rubber surrounding it which perishes and breaks up. If you can get underneath (don’t forget to support vehicle, just in case the suspension drops from offroad height of its own accord ) and grab the propshaft giving at a good push and pull, it’s obvious if there’s a problem. Lots of play and feels lose in the carrier. A torch and an inspection mirror to view the rubber around the bearing is a good idea too.

Had the same symptoms the dealer I bought it from is replacing it at his expence If it ain't broken down it soon will

just had a look cant really see its perished well from what we saw but can move the prop quite a lot inside the rubber mount |

Also just noticed whilst swmbo was was reversing i could here what sounded like a universal joint type of clunk from behind the drivers wheel wondering if its the front prop that has a problem |

More likely to be the CV joint on the half shaft. If it's had a split gaiter replaced then there is likely to be wear in the joint. I had a split gaiter replaced on my TDV8 and the CV joint started making noises a good 2 years later... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Thanks taking it back to garage tomorrow had not heard the clicking nefore bit it did sound like a Uk joint not moving properly |

Well been back and it does appear to be the front off side driveshaft that is making the noise even though we could not make it do it whilst on the ramp so a new complete shaft ordered and should be here Monday |
