I just thought I post this to see if anyone’s come across anything similar, working with trucks cracked discs are quite commonplace but I was quite surprised to see this especially on the parking brake part, I did get the parking brake stuck on last year and couldn’t get the emergency release to operate so drove 1/2 mile home but they were only warm hot rather than red hot when I got back, the discs are in fairly good condition (crack aside) but unknown quality as they had been replaced before I bought the car,
I will replace everything including the shoes shame really as I fitted brembo pads all round a while back

Mikey is it usually a result of an EPB failure or something else as I have personally had a fair few BMW’s and an XR3i that all had inboard handbrake and have worked in the trade most of my life and have never seen that kind of failure (yours) on a domestic vehicle without severe neglect being a factor, It’s not that uncommon in trucks that I mainly work on nowadays. Clickadeeclick
