V strange RR.

After running Volvos for 30 odd years we thought we would try a different motor so bought an 07 one owner 2.7 RRS with 86k on the clock just to try one. Seems OK, nice to drive feels big & safe but it does some strange things. Possibly induced by filling the tank with supermarket diesel it was OK before, ie management light on also airbag light, local garage reset them but they still come on & off seemingly at will my Maxiscan reader wont reset them. Also 'see you home lights' work when they feel like it alarm goes off now & then. We holidayed in Yorkshire earlier covering 300 miles and the car was faultless, a friend tells me thats because its a RR queer things happen. If it sorts itself I may go on to change it for a 3ltr diesel if not will go back to Volvo. Any thoughts? Regs harrij.

How old is the battery on it they have been known to cause all sorts of faults if it’s original then it may be at the end of its life Thumbs Up

the bonnet switch probably needs replacing to prevent the alarm going off.

being a 2007 its VERY important to change the oil pump too, when you replace the cam belts, otherwise the engine tends to destroy itsself in no time at all (due to belt tensioner mount on oil pump being weak)
