Not quite order placed, still hunting around for the best deal/delivery and to date looking at a 6% saving and a (late) June delivery.
Which has got me thinking after seeing this http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/de...ls/2831663
No wait time, a good spec and can probably do a deal around the £90k mark which would mean about a £7k/£8k saving versus new (after discount).
Always nice having the ‘latest’ model but given a completely new model will be out in about 2 to 3 years is the face lifted version really worth the 5 month wait and extra expense given that the up grades are all pretty minor? (I think the exhausts, seats and wheels are inferior to the current model)
What does the establishment reckon?!

Hi Cantona, I did see that car as Lookers in London has an identical car for £100k so as you say with some bargaining its a good buy but not the new model which I do prefer. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

@cantona yes I also think the exhaust, wheels and seats are a down grade and I too would prefer a my17 over a brand new one on looks alone, shame because the dash and general new look interior is there, shame they nickle and dimed the look of it - classic JLR! MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver

Exactly, and like I say, in the not too distant future this model will be history anyway. If the new mods really made the car better then it would be a no brainer but the reality is they don’t (bonnet aside).

I would sooner have that model Cantona over the new one,at least this one looks more aggressive as the new one doesn’t look much differing to the hse model & your saving yourself 10-15k & no waiting list.

I'm going to be honest... I think you're going to regret that. Initially you'll be thrilled as it's such a great vehicle but come June you'll know you could be picking up a new one and a few months after that there will be many on the roads making the old version look even older. The new lights and the new rear bumper are much much nicer and I find it hard to believe the new seats would be worse than the old version. It's not too often a company makes a product worse with each new version. The seats will be better. And was Estoril what you really wanted? It's the most visible thing about a car. I know you will save some money but usually we forget about that part after a few months.

Mine's not arriving until late May but the next few months will fly by. But then I've done this a few times already so maybe I'm used to it. Just my thoughts.... that is all. 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR – Bosphorus Grey

Thanks Andrew, appreciate you taking the time to write.
Just when I thought the general consensus was thinking like me Smile
I think the design of the current seats are nicer, but that’s just my opinion.
I know what you are saying and when the new models are out there then that will be the acid test I guess but I do think that ‘side on’ (wheels/air vents) the current model is better looking and the exhausts are not great on the new one.
The one I am looking at is brand new though so it won’t be as if I’ll be in a car that’s a few years old, age wise it will be more or less on a par.
My main train of thought though is that the (complete) new model is not that far away now and by the time i’m 18/24 months down the line it won’t be long before the new order book is opened.
Colour wise, i’ve been wavering between corris and Estoril for a good while now so it’s one of them!

Fair enough! Over the years when it comes to cars I've made a couple mistakes, not many, but have had the feeling of regret which totally sucks. So my motto now is "never compromise".

And yes design is all opinion and personal. Enjoy your SVR! It was amazing before any design changes and will continue to be amazing after. 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR – Bosphorus Grey
