EPB

Hi all. Can anyone with a L494 tell me if their EPB automatically engages when selecting Park. My previous L320 did it, my courtesy evoke and Disco both did it too.

My L320 didn't automatically apply it when I got it, but I set it to apply with my iiDTool. Now it applies in all gears except when in Park.

On the LRE I attended it was a new shape RRS and I noticed it did apply automatically. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Thanks all. So it seems a little inconsistent!

Mine doesn't, and I don't see anything in the set up menus to make it do so. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Mine doesn't. Never use it anyway. Only time its on is when I pick the car up from a service. Only notice it then as there is a hesitation on moving off when it automatically disengages Embarassed

Yeah, its odd, why some would have it enabled and some wont. Reason i ask is, is that is was in for some warranty work and i mentioned it, so they replaced the EPB module and i assumed it was fixed, but its not fixed it and i dont know whether i should go back with it. We have only had it a few months so keen to point out these 'faults' now. But i am now unsure! 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

I just can't figure why anyone wouldn't use the handbrake, why risk your gearbox? Would you leave a manual only in first gear (yes we've probably all done this when the handbrake fails)?

Surely it`s fine to leave it off if the car is parked on the flat Confused Steve.

Is it not simply driver preference, if you want it to apply automatically when stopping the car you have the feature enabled in the CCF files, if you wish to apply it manually yourself you have it deactivated. In either case it will automatically release when you engage drive and pull away, although personally I prefer to release it manually prior to pulling away.

Cheers
Col

I always engage the hand brake except when leaving for long periods on the flat. Thats why i liked the idea of it auto engaging when in park.

I will report it back to dealer and see what they say again. 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

Col. Is that an option on L494 to enable it perhaps? But why when i mentioned it to the dealer did they order a new EPB module and then return it without enabling it. The EPB was working fine manually when it went in. Very odd. 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory
