United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Siberian Silver
RANGE ROVER lettering from bottom to top of tail gate

Hi I have a 2005 Supercharged.
Has anyone removed the lettering " RANGE ROVER" from the rear tail gate below the number plate and brought new lettering and applied this above number plate like the newer style range rovers?

Without changing any body panel components it looks like it will fit

If so did the old lettering come off without damaging the underlying paint and which new lettering with a spacing template did you buy? Any links?

Thanks in advance

Stewart

Stewart - there is lots of videos on youtube advising on how to remove the letters safely - I used nylon sewing thread to get behind the letters to aid removal. I then cleaned off the remaining residue with Autoglym intensive tar remover - this worked a treat. Again there is plenty of replacement letters available on ebay that come with stencils. There is no need to remove any panels Thumbs Up

GOOD LUCK. 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Heat the old letters with a hair dryer and then just prise off with one of these https://www.powerfuluk.com/vehicles/range-...-tool.html

There`s even a wheel to remove the adhesive but I`ve always used something like WD40 or white vinegar and a soft cloth

Wash the area in and around the letters thoroughly to get any dirt that has settled. I'd use a BBQ sauce brush to scrub in and around the area.

Heat with hair dryer until the letters are too *warm* to touch, NOT HOT.

Use dental floss and gently pry the letters off using a sawing motion.

PowerfulUK's videos on YouTube demonstrate this very well although I'm hesitant to use a plastic prying tool as it can still scratch the paint surface.

But if you did mark it at all, it`ll only be behind the lettering anyway Laughing Steve.

Leave the letters at the bottom - looks silly at the top on the early model Thumbs Up
