Looking to buy either the after market roof rails like those on powerfuluk etc. or get a set of the detachable thule type.
Both look to be about the same price, obvious the rails need drilling in the channel but is the difference night and day between the two?

Only looking for occasional use, and transporting the surfboard on hols. Last year I purchased one of those padded strap roof racks for £50, OMG the noise was horrendous. The strap vibrates on the roof and sounds like your driving through a hive of bees's. Needless to say the padded straps are going on the bay and hear lays my decision on what to get next.

Adam, I bought a used set of Thule Aero bars and feet from ‘nigethecat’ on this forum, paid £130
I use them VERY occasionally to carry my MTB when towing the caravan, when not towing the white box I use a tow bar mounted bike rack.
You are welcome to borrow the bars at any time until you get sorted, they are very easy to fit
