2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Remember, despite what is says on the tailgate, the 2.7 is not a Sports car, it’s an SUV - if you want sports car performance and handling buy a sports car or look for a Supercharged RRS. The 2.7 though is a great long distance cruiser rather than a GT and it’s pretty dammed good offroad too, unlike any X series BMW, Audi SQ or Merc ML 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Thanks for the thoughts and opinions folks...much appreciated!

Will certainly consider a nice low mileage example with a full service history.

Will see what turns up.

Thanks once again.

could have had a bad turbo, (or leaking pipe)

they have adequate performance if you select sport mode on the gearbox

This Thumbs Up

Performance is adequate, but really should have had the 220bhp a remap gives, from the factory Thumbs Up

I'm fairly sure the one I tested was in fine health. Book 0-60 is about 12s for the tdv6, excluding my series land rover, I can't remember the last time I owned a car that slow. Possibly when I was a teenager.

Go for a TDV8
ReMapped you can get 315 bhp 535lb/ft
The RRS needs the V8 61 AB 5.0 supercharged rocket
07 HSE TDV8 with lots of toys EGR removed BAS remap
56 HSE WAS FULL OF PROBLEMS

I would honestly not touch the TDV6, over here in SA there have been numerous instances of snapped cranks, turned bearings etc. all with resultant huge repair bills. The oil pump theory is exactly that....among others - TDV8 or SC

Tdv8 can have high maintenance costs too.

Sure, even the petrol models, however a snapped crank is a huge expense and practically a write off depending on vehicle age

Tows really well. Doesn't seem to make much difference to performance if you have nothing or 3t on the back. Just about to take mine for a 1k mile tow round UK/Ireland and I'm sure it'll be absolutely fine.

Worked out to be over 1200 miles - Wales to London to Donegal via Stanraer & today Donegal to Newcastle (via Stranraer) and down/across to Carmarthenshire, the last 175 miles being a-roads, complete with 1000kg load/500kg trailer. Left at 08:00, got home at 23:59 and feel remarkably fine. There was quite a bit of snow in Donegal, slightly less in NI and nowt in the UK. Car didn't miss a beat and even loaded up, was pressing on through the wriggly Welsh roads to get home - A483 is awesome when empty Smile

Not many cars you can do that with and still get our walking with a grin on your face
