MTEC Brakes.... anyone used them?

Hi all looking at getting some new brakes, anyone used MTEC for their RRS? I have used their brakes on previous cars and always been pleased. Discs and pads all round about £270. Can choose your style which I would go for drilled and grooved.

Though not a RRsport a friend of mine ran them on his 500bhp Time attach car for a race season with no problems, I was thinking of trying them once I need to replace mine.

Lol I’m genuinely nothing to do with MTEC! Actually I had a problem with rusting on my last set but I see now they do a coating which prevents rust (on the centre section). They were fine on my 200BHP cars but just wanted to see if anyone had ran them on their RRS.

Glad to see you are taking it in the right spirit. ..............OR..... you are just very skilled in the art of sales and have sneaked in another matching of a benefit with a feature.

I've got MTEC drilled & grooved all round on my TT, VERY happy with their performance!
As for surface corrosion, yes they suffer from this but it's easily cured with some VHT paint on the offending surfaces.
You'll get lots of brake dust on the wheels as they cut up pads more but this can also be limited with a decent wheel protector spray. Daily... Audi TT 240 qS, tasteful mods.
Weekend toy... 5' 6", 9 stone, original bodywork!

Maybe some of us have suspicions that are not always well-founded. It's quite common now for all companies to have at least one person managing social media. A popular technique is to join a forum (usually without bothering to complete a profile) and then without a detailed introduction to just make a first post along the lines of " I've just bought a (xxxx) from (XXX) and it's brilliant!" Some are more devious and say things like "I've always used (XXX) on my cars in the past and it's brilliant! has anyone tried it/them on an (insert forum specific model)".

Obviously the poster can establish their bone-fide credentials in the time-honoured petrol head tradition of adding a photograph of their vehicle next to a road sign or local landmark of their claimed place of residence with a tin of Bird's Custard Powder on the bonnet.
This is universally referred to as the "custard test". 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I am using grooved Godspeed Brakes on my Brembo'd RRS and they're great plus with fast road pads came in at £185.00 - no fade, good response and so far done 50k miles (2 sets pads), though I should probably look to change them at some point next year. I am hard on my brakes Wink

(Absolutely no affiliation to GS, just a happy customer - believe me!)
