Crotch vent #2

Finally managed to find a little time to sort the vent.
Cut off all the old lugs (that weren't already broken off) then hot glued both flaps together in the position they should be.
Drilled out the top flap on either side where the lugs should have been, then cut a piece of wire (same thickness as lugs) and threaded it through the holes!
Now, to say I didn't know the vent was there to start with, then didn't know what it was for, I now have a functional (even if it's in one piece) testicle warmer/cooler!
Poor men have poor ways eh?😱

Judging by the position of broken fixing points on the rear of both flaps, I presume there should be some kind of cantilever set up to open and close them together. Unfortunately these have no doubt been consigned to the same eternal void as at least one of my work socks every wash day!
By sticking the flaps together and using a length of wire, for the top pivot that's thick enough to be an interference fit, the functionality is retained.
What can I say? Just love tinkering!👍 Daily... Audi TT 240 qS, tasteful mods.
